Fall Sports Season up in Fort Collins is looking pretty good for some local teams, and I'm pretty fired up about it. Although Rocky Mountain, Fossil Ridge, and Poudre all have some work to do to make the 5A football state playoffs, all three teams have been fighting hard to get the tough wins that are needed to compete in the playoffs. In 4A, Fort Collins just pulled out a tough win over Mountain View this past week, and looks poised to make a run at the Class 4A Northern League title. With a few tough matchups still looming against Silver Creek and Broomfield, the Lambkins will need to make it through conference play unscathed to get a decent seed and make the state tournament a good one for the school’s football program. After the promise of a year ago, the Fort Collins program has rebounded nicely after losing a bunch of key starters. Look for them to fight well into the finish of the season, and try to make some noise in state.
On the Softball diamond, we were so happy to see three out of four local Fort Collins teams advance past the regionals into the round of 16 in the state tournament. Of course I’m partial to Fossil Ridge (I coach Strength & Conditioning there), but love to see when all four schools advance to the next round, as that’s a rarity. Strong representation coming from Northern Colorado! It’s anyone’s ballgame, and with the offenses that each team possesses, along with good starting pitching, any school in Fort Collins can make a run at the state title. We’ll be rooting for our SaberCats this coming weekend, but will be keeping an eye on the Lambkins, Lobos, and Windsor. Kudos to all the teams and coaches for making it this far! Outside of the Gridiron and diamond, we haven’t paid much attention to other sports this fall expect from what we read in the Coloradoan. I’ve got my hands full with training the SaberCat girls!! Next weekend will be a tense one as we take the diamond, that’s for sure. Contact me at 970-342-3568 if you are looking for a Fort Collins Realtor. I would be happy to help you look for property in Loveland, Windsor, or Fort Collins.
